A native of Philadelphia, Lee “Treach” Wilson was always active in many community organizations starting from a young age. His mother and stepfather kept him active in basketball, football, softball leagues as well as the church choir. The skill sets he learned at a young age have carried over to his adult career making him a well-rounded community leader. Lee studied Accounting at Virginia State University and the University of Phoenix. He has gained valuable experiences in the financial industry making him a respected expert and asset to educating community members on best financial practices. These experiences have led to a successful career in both public and private sectors. Experientially, Lee understands the ins and outs of the financial industry from rebuilding his own credit and creating a diverse retirement portfolio. In addition to furthering his education, he became a first time homebuyer four years ago. A true philanthropist, Lee created The Urban Banker, a community organization specializing in financial literacy for urban communities. He has been actively involved in GLBT communities since 1991 volunteering with the COLOURS Organization Inc. and the House of Ferragamo in Philadelphia. Now living in Dallas, Texas; he has become a trusted and committed community leader. He is involved with numerous community organizations including: Fahari Arts, Reina Magazine, BlaqOut Magazine, Black Transmen Inc., DFW Pride Movement, Club Elm & Pearl’s Ballroom Scene and Abounding Prosperity Inc. Professionally he seeks to financially educate as many people in Black GLBT communities to become homeowners and debt free while earning wealth. Through his work with the Urban Banker Lee wants to create a financial legacy that will last for generations, in particular creating a scholarship fund for individuals to further their education. Lee’s personal goals include traveling the world starting with Africa and enjoying his wife of 12 years, Mercedes Thompson-Wilson and his family.
