Video: Technology Outreach to Reduce Health Disparities and Stigma
Project "TORDS" stands for Technology Outreach to Reduce Health Disparities and Stigma. TORDS is an NLM-funded initiative, in partnership with South Central Education Development (SCED). TORDS was designed to increase health technology literacy access in rural and underserved communities in southern West Virginia. SCED uses MedlinePlus, PubMed and other NLM resources to train participants in identifying trustworthy, up-to-date and accurate health information. These NLM resources are used to provide critical services such as opioid overdose and Naloxone workshops and HIV education.
